Making a Splash in Marmaris, Turkey: A Day at Atlantis Water Park

I just got back from an amazing waterpark in Marmaris, Turkey. Atlantis Water Park is the largest waterpark in Marmaris, the staff are so nice and, they have awesome taste in music and more. I won’t deny it has its flaws, like the cold water, but my overall experience was really good.

The tickets for the waterpark are cheap, $10 for a kid, and about $20 for an adult. Under eights are free. There is a restaurant with decent-priced food and an extra play area for little kids but you have to pay extra for that. It used to have mini golf but do not be fooled: that ended 3 years ago.

Now, it’s not a very big waterpark. There are around ten slides and then some more little kid slides in the child area. There is a wave pool that only runs for 15 minutes at a time but it’s super fun while it’s running.

The slides are all fun. They are different colors so we just call them by their colors. The blue slide and the white slide are by far the best (except for the toilet bowl one which is also awesome).

The blue slide is best on a single tube (where you need a blue tube for the blue slide) but on a double tube, it’s fun because you can be with a friend. For the white slide, you need to ride it on a double tube that’s the rule. It looks like a black hole but trust me it’s not once you’re inside. I won’t say anything else though.

The green slide is the slowest and only for kids 12 and under. The yellow is fun but not the best (you need a yellow tube for the yellow slide). The toilet bowl slide is very good. It’s not bumpy so it doesn’t hurt your back, but put your hands behind your head.

The water is very cold so bring a wetsuit and plenty of towels but it's really good. That was the main annoyance but it wasn’t too cold. It wasn’t crowded (I went on Friday in October) so I loved it.

The staff are very nice and funny and super awesome. Some are moody and on their phones but most are really nice. That was a big highlight. The guy who was at the bottom of the blue slide (when I was there) was the best. He was making jokes, flipping people out of their tubes (in a good way), and more.

Another: they are really good at the music they play. The songs were all English (I don’t know why) and I think they were old classics as well as some newer songs. Lots of songs I've heard (don’t judge, I don't know a lot of music) my parents play but never paid attention to. But I still really like them.

I read about the waterpark and it seemed cool. But now I REALLY know what it is.
