Atokos Greece, also known as Pig Beach is a beautiful little bay on the island of Atokos in Greece. The water is a beautiful clear and a wonderful temperature. The place looks like paradise at first sight with its beautiful hills and turquoise water but below the beauty are what make Atokos an interesting place. The island is home to a family of chubby brown pigs! The pigs won’t attack you and you’re safe in the water because they don’t swim (mostly).

The pigs like shoes so don’t leave those lying around and will also climb into an empty dinghy! If you don’t see them on the beach the pigs will have retreated into the hills for the time being. If you like pigs then try feeding them (not from your hand) by throwing food beside them. My mom wanted footage of them so my dad went swimming and put food floating on the water and the pig swam after it.

If you don’t like pigs then you can go on a hike with spiders! Bring sticks and use them to clear the way for you from spider webs because the webs cover the trail. If you continue far enough down the trail, you will reach a very wide open clearing. In that clearing, there’s a well that you can throw stones into. Just nearby the well is an old stone hut which is cool to explore. Continuing up you will eventually reach the top of the hill where there is a marvelous view of the island! On the way down kids can run and it's very fun.

I think the best (maybe only) way to visit Pig Beach is by boat. You can charter a small motor boat and visit for the day or if you want the full experience (the sunsets are beautiful) you can charter a sailing boat, anchor, and sleep there for one or more nights. Just remember that Atokos is a private island so keep it clean!

I visited Pig Beach with my family and we took a hike. My mom made an Instagram post on it and it's very fun and was fun to act in. The swimming was remarkable and it's a perfect place to dive because reaching the bottom isn’t too hard. For kids, the place is wonderful because of the hills you can run down, the clear waters, and running at the pigs and then away from them again.

So have fun if you visit Pig Beach!!!
